Job Summary
Guest Services Associate at the South Carolina Aquarium provides customer service at the information desks and ticketing areas, handles cash transactions, staffs ticket booths, educates guests about exhibits and conservation programs, guides school groups through admissions, promotes memberships and fundraising programs, and supports crowd and flow management across indoor/outdoor areas. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, cash handling experience, basic computer skills, and availability on days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and interact with guests from diverse backgrounds; responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with admissions, answering inquiries, and assisting with special guest requests while upholding safety and security procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in hospitality or customer service
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and mobility for standing/walking for long periods
