Job Summary
Greet visitors, respond to inquiries, and direct individuals to programs and services at the Red Shield Center. Process memberships, registrations, reservations, and retail transactions while managing cash-handling policies, including accepting payments, balancing tills, and preparing deposits. Conduct facility tours to explain amenities and program offerings, assist with event preparation and room set-ups, and monitor guest interactions to ensure compliance with safety and security policies. Maintain an organized reception area and report maintenance or operational concerns to supervisors. Requires First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or diploma in progress
- Must have or obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification withing the first 90 days of employment
- Must have command of the English language and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to work with children, parents, staff and a variety of ages and groups
- Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customers, clients, members and staff
- A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
- Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous customer service and point-of-sale experience preferred
- Computer experience helpful
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Must maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure
