Job Summary
The Guest Service Assistant (GSA) is responsible for monitoring and overseeing residential clients at a homeless shelter, assisting with new resident orientation, overseeing the front desk and laundry facilities, ensuring a safe environment, handling emergencies, and providing operational support for events. Ideal candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, have one year of work experience in social services or security, exemplify good moral character, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work with a diverse population and handle various physical demands of the job.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year work experience in social services or security-related work
- Good moral character
- Knowledge of homelessness and addiction issues
- Good communication skills
- Computer skills
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of basic facility maintenance and security
- Ability to multi-task
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand, speak, read and write English
Desired Qualifications
- Some college level coursework in social work
- Knowledge of addictions and relapse prevention
Additional Requirements
- Level 2 Background Screening is required
