Job Summary
Greet walk-in and phone guests with genuine warmth to determine interests, then educate them on cake distinctions, flavors, pricing, and promotions while suggesting merchandise like balloons and candles. Process orders accurately using the point-of-sale system and invite guests to join the Email Club. Maintain a clean bakery environment by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and replenishing display cases, while assisting with cake decoration supplies. Adhere strictly to health, safety, and dress code policies. Requires flexibility for various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have the flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, based on changing business demands
- Is comfortable with new technology and has the ability to operate a point-of-sale system
- Understands basic arithmetic; can perform calculations when needed and provide monetary change using U.S. currency
- Has the capacity to stand for extended periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- While no formal education or work experience is required, previous guest service experience at a bakery, restaurant or retail store is a plus
