Job Summary
Greet walk-in and phone guests with genuine warmth to determine their interests, then educate them on cake distinctions, flavors, pricing, and promotions. Process orders accurately using the point-of-sale system while suggesting balloons, candles, and cards to complete celebrations. Maintain a clean bakery presentation by sweeping floors, dusting surfaces, and replenishing retail merchandise and display cases. Assist the Crafter with cake decoration and packaging supplies as needed. Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, dress code, and personal hygiene standards. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality while operating in a fast-paced environment. Requires flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older
- Must have the flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, based on changing business demands
- Is comfortable with new technology and has the ability to operate a point-of-sale system
- Understands basic arithmetic; can perform calculations when needed and provide monetary change using U.S. currency
- Has the capacity to stand for extended periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- While no formal education or work experience is required, previous guest service experience at a bakery, restaurant or retail store is a plus
