Job Summary
Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, answering general and specific questions while providing personalized recommendations about resort operations, slope conditions, and activities. Assist with the selection and sale of lift tickets, season passes, rentals, and ski school lessons, processing various payment types and preparing daily accounting summaries. Communicate clearly to set expectations, fulfill pre-booked orders, and coordinate with on-mountain operations including schools, security, and patrol. Professionally handle guest complaints, resolve problems, and manage crowd management in lobbies and queues while maintaining a neat work area. Ensure guests complete required liability releases and process vouchers, rental forms, and data in compliance with security standards. Attend staff meetings, read daily memos, and adapt to fast-paced environments requiring strong multitasking and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year cashier, retail sales, front desk, or equivalent
- Experience in guest service, public relations, and/or public speaking
- Greater than average computer proficiency
- Strong typing/keyboard skills
- POS experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and friendly attitude, with both guests and coworkers, in a fast passed work environment
- Ability to field complaints and resolve guest issues in a professional, caring, and effective manner
- Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis
- Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis
- Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, and pulling on an occasional basis
- Able to speak and actively listen continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees
Desired Qualifications
- Skiing/Snowboarding experience
- Minimum one season experience with Winter Park Resort
- Experience with RTP|ONE
- Second language
