Job Summary
Serve as the first point of contact for all guests, offering a warm, polished, and professional welcome while managing and optimizing the reservation system to balance high volume with à la carte dining. Liaise with kitchen and floor teams to ensure smooth table turns, personally oversee VIP arrivals with discretion, and maintain updated guest notes to build lasting relationships. Support junior FOH team members in training, uphold impeccable presentation standards, and contribute to service planning and special initiatives. Ensure all interactions reflect the restaurant's commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and cultural awareness. Join Nettle, a new rooftop restaurant in Covent Garden opening September 2026, championing British seasonal produce and meaningful hospitality.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maître d', senior host, or FOH lead in a high end or high volume restaurant
- Impeccable guest facing confidence and natural charisma
- Fluent understanding of service flow around theatre or timed dining experiences
- Strong operational knowledge of reservation and booking systems (e.g SevenRooms)
- A collaborative spirit, willing to lead, support, and work closely with the team
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to excellence at every level
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in modern British food, wine, and cocktails; WSET Level 1 or similar is a bonus
