Job Summary
Provide exceptional service to every guest visiting or calling SDHS, including greeting guests, determining needs, answering questions, and guiding inquiries to resolution. Support adoptions by helping find appropriate matches and promoting the Adoption Guarantee. Manage check-in/check-out for relinquishments, euthanasia, and Community Spay and Neuter services; assist with stray intake and eligibility assessment for the Community Cat Program as needed. Cross-train across all Guest Experience areas (Adoptions, Admissions, Stray and Reclaim). Based at the El Cajon Campus, this Full-Time role requires a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of customer/guest services experience (2 years preferred); bilingual-Spanish is a plus. The position pays $20.75–$22.25 per hour and includes benefits and growth opportunities as part of SDHS’s three-tier Career Growth in the Guest Experience program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in customer/guest services
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter or veterinary hospital preferred
- Bilingual skills a plus, bilingual-Spanish preferred
