Job Summary
Operate engaging product sampling stations, introduce guests to farm-made and locally sourced items, and explain ingredients, preparation methods, and farm connections. Recommend retail, bakery, food, and beverage products based on guest interests while sharing history, culture, attractions, events, and seasonal offerings. Direct visitors through the property, maintain clean and fully stocked sampling areas, and track distributed samples, sales, and collected reviews. Communicate product reactions and sales opportunities to management and assist retail and food-and-beverage teams during busy periods. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and accident-prevention procedures. Consistent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability is required for this seasonal role.
Required Qualifications
- Consistent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability
- Seasonal and weekend-focused position
- Ability to stand and move throughout the farm for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing seasonal conditions
- Regular bending, reaching, carrying, and setting up sampling materials
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Sufficient hearing and vision to communicate with guests, monitor sampling areas, and read product information
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, sampling, retail sales, food service, promotions, or customer service
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable approaching and speaking with guests
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Enthusiasm for local food, agriculture, farm products, and seasonal experiences
- Ability to learn detailed product and farm information
- Comfortable making recommendations and helping drive sales
- Able to work independently while collaborating with multiple farm departments
- Dependable and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy visitor days
- Genuinely enjoys helping people and creating positive experiences
- Clearly and enthusiastically explains products, activities, and farm information
- Proactively approaches guests and identifies opportunities to improve their visit
- Remains friendly, organized, and professional during busy or unexpected situations
- Can shift between sampling, guest assistance, promotions, and operational support
- Understands how product knowledge, recommendations, and sampling can increase sales without creating a high-pressure experience
