Job Summary
Answer incoming guest calls, direct them to appropriate departments, and assist with store questions. Process guest service transactions including credits, refunds, lottery sales, and money orders. Operate cash registers and self-checkouts to itemize purchases of dry goods, produce, dairy, and meat. Handle financial transactions for cash, checks, food stamps, WIC, and coupons while bagging customer orders. Maintain a clean, stocked department complying with safety and sanitation standards. Notify managers of pricing or register issues and follow all security, cash handling, and product safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a retail store environment with varied temperatures
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a low to moderate noise level environment
Desired Qualifications
- One year of prior retail or related experience
