Job Summary
Assist with personal care tasks, safe lifts, transfers, and adaptive aids for residents while adhering to their plan of care. Provide one-on-one support, guide residents to activities and dining, and maintain a safe, clean environment. Organize closets, restock shelves, and make beds as directed. Act as a resident companion to offer cognitive, social, and emotional support, ensuring comfort and well-being. Respond to resident or family concerns within decision-making authority and report safety issues to the Client Service Supervisor. Uphold confidentiality and advocate for client safety. Maintain harmonious relationships with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or working towards high school diploma
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
- Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g. lifting/transferring clients
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Previous experience working with seniors or in service industry
