Job Summary
Monitor shelter and guests to ensure safety and adherence to policies while controlling access and activity on shelter property. Oversee official communications, manage intakes including interviews, screenings, and paperwork, and assist guests with bedding, meals, and specific needs. Refer guests to Case Managers and community resources for transportation, recovery meetings, and other support. Maintain written records of all persons in/out, communications, incident reports, and fire drill logs while ensuring confidentiality. Perform property monitoring that may include basic cleaning and snow removal, and communicate pertinent concerns to incoming RAs and the Director.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Valid PA Driver's License with good driving record.
- At least 21 years of age with at least 2 years of driving experience, including vans.
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
- Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training
- Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
