Job Summary
Install and lay out highway guardrails, read plans/schematics, load/unload materials, operate post pounder/driver truck, drive long distances to jobsites, plan routes via GPS, maintain paperwork, and comply with safety regulations; requires valid driver's license, ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, and flexible schedule including overtime and potential night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license
- MVR and controlled substance test may be required
- Must be able to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Physical ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds
- Experience loading and unloading equipment into and out of vehicles
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Ability to work outdoors and in construction zones
- Ability to complete daily paperwork
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years guardrail installation
- Proven work experience as a truck driver with extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site
