Job Summary
GT/Testing Coordinator provides and coordinates services for Gifted and Talented (G/T) students, chairs the District G/T Advisory Committee, and oversees certification, screening, and budget for G/T services. Works with principals and teachers to develop annual professional development plans, maintains the G/T student database and files, conducts routine audits, develops and communicates program plans, and handles parent communications and opportunities for GT students. Responsibilities include planning and supervising teacher aides/volunteers, preparing lesson plans, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with district G/T policies while collaborating with campus administration and community partners. Location is Houston, TX, in a classroom setting with moderate travel and occasional after-hours activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED and preferred for other subjects)
- Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards
- O Extensive knowledge of working with G/T students
- O 3 years successful gifted and talented education teaching experience is preferred
