Job Summary
GSRP Lead Teacher at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science (WMAES) leads curriculum and instruction for an early childhood (GSRP) program, develops developmentally-appropriate lesson plans, collaborates with assistant teachers and staff, implements the GSRP grant policies and the Preschool Program Quality Assessment standards, promotes early literacy, numeracy and social skills, motivates students, engages with parents/caregivers, and ensures a cohesive, enrichment-focused learning environment. The role may involve responsibilities associated with licensing compliance and may serve as a Program Director for the GSRP classroom; requires strong collaboration, technology use in instruction, and fostering partnerships with families and the community.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, ZN Early Childhood General and Special Education (Birth-Kindergarten), ZO Lower Elementary Education (PK-3)
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development with a specialization in preschool teaching OR a bachelor’s degree in elementary teaching with a valid preschool CDA
- Shall possess a valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZA endorsement, or an Early Childhood-General and ZS endorsement
