Job Summary
Establish and implement foundational organoid platforms by working with priority investigators to assess research needs and develop protocols for at least one lineage derived from each of the three germ layers. Build gene editing capabilities within the facility by adapting protocols from internal and external collaborators to support investigator projects and finalizing standardized operating procedures. Introduce automation to enhance throughput and efficiency by developing strategies for applications such as qPCR workflows and 96-well organoid generation. Expand facility services and institutional engagement by broadening offerings, developing training programs for users, and serving as a scientific resource for the research community.
Required Qualifications
- PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in stem cell biology, developmental biology, regenerative medicine, cell biology, bioengineering, or a related field
- Significant experience developing and implementing organoid culture systems
- Demonstrated expertise in SOP development, laboratory standardization, and quality control systems
- Experience with genome engineering and gene editing platforms, including adapting protocols for shared-resource or core settings
- Strong understanding of cell line tracking, QC documentation, and reproducibility standards
- Experience working collaboratively with faculty and research teams in a service-oriented environment
- Familiarity with laboratory automation and high-throughput workflows
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
