Job Summary
Repair and fabricate piping, install and remove blinds, orifice plates, and ancillary systems on equipment including reactors, heat exchangers, towers, heaters, boilers, and tanks. Interpret pipe prints, take field measurements, and operate shop tools such as pipe threading machines and drill presses while ensuring all equipment remains in working condition. Perform welding and minor repairs on carbon steel and chrome moly processes, utilizing bolt tensioning equipment and basic rigging knowledge. Work 12-16 hour shifts including weekends and holidays, adhering to strict refinery safety guidelines. Requires five years of refinery maintenance experience, welding certification, and TWIC eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to perform/comply with the following: responsible for the installation/removal, fabrication, welding and repair on equipment such as pipe, steel structure, reactors, heat exchangers, towers, heaters, boilers, tanks and other related equipment in the Refinery
- Able to use shop tools (pipe threading machine, drill press, cutoff/band saw, break, roll press, etc.)
- Ensure all tools are in working condition and make minor repairs as necessary
- Ability to read and interpret pipe prints
- Ability to take field measurements
- operate a forklift
- basic rigging knowledge

- Perform all duties following the safety guidelines established by the Refinery
- must work 12-16 hour shifts when required, which includes some weekends and holidays, working overtime
- Must have welding certification in: carbon steel & chrome moly processes
- preferably completed an apprenticeship program
- A minimum of five (5) years of refinery maintenance troubleshooting, installation and repair experience
- petrochemical field experience
- Required computer skills are: knowledge and use of Microsoft office, Outlook and SAP
- Must be eligible to qualify or hold a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card)
Desired Qualifications
- Must have welding certification in: carbon steel & chrome moly processes and (preferably completed) an apprenticeship program
