Job Summary
Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air while inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and hydraulic components on tugs, belt loaders, and pushbacks. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using test equipment and manufacturer guidelines, then remove, test, repair, or replace specific parts such as carburetors, governors, and wiring. Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment, log repairs with descriptions, and complete associated paperwork to track parts. Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment while exemplifying PrimeFlight customer service standards.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
- 3 years of verified experience
- Must provide their own tools and toolbox
- Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to push, pull
- Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel
- Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
