Job Summary
Leads large-scale federal design and construction projects from planning through occupancy, managing scope, budget, schedule, and contractor performance; oversees on-site field operations, reviews design documents, ensures compliance with building codes and life-safety standards, coordinates with A/E firms, contractors, and government stakeholders, and maintains documentation while traveling to project sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; and/or ten years of experience managing design and construction projects
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- Extensive knowledge of building design, construction methods, and commercial building systems
- Proficiency in project management principles, construction scheduling, cost estimating, reading and interpreting construction documents, and writing scopes of work and specifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with customers, acquisition staff, contractors, financial managers, and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously
