Grower Technician 1

Job Summary
Grower Technician 1 needed to support daily cultivation and sanitation across a vertical farm. Work with hydroponic systems to mix nutrient solutions, monitor EC/pH, perform equipment checks, visually inspect crops, assist with seeding/transplanting/thinning/harvest, scout for pests and disease, and help with sanitation, data entry, and SOP-driven tasks. Coordinate with operators and maintenance, log environmental parameters, and maintain PPE and safety standards. Requires an associate’s degree (preferred) or high school diploma/GED with 1+ year in production agriculture or related fields; familiarity with hydroponics, food safety programs, and regulated environments; strong attention to detail and ability to perform physical work. Rotating 40-hour shift, Monday-Saturday, 7:00am-6:00pm. Benefits include health insurance, vacation, sick time, holidays, parental leave, 401(k), life insurance, and disability coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1+ year of experience in production agriculture, greenhouse, vertical farm, food manufacturing, or sanitation in a food-safe environment
- Basic computer literacy sufficient for digital logging and task management systems
- Familiarity with hydroponic systems, growing media, or nutrient management concepts
- Experience working in regulated environments with documented procedures
- Experience with food safety programs (GAP, FSMA, SQF, or similar)
- Genuine interest in agriculture, horticulture, plant science, or food production
- Ability to follow written and verbal SOPs with high attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and physically able to perform demanding, repetitive work
- Prior experience with food safety programs (GAP, FSMA, SQF, or similar)
