Job Summary
Lead dynamic, well-structured group fitness classes tailored to various fitness levels while greeting participants to create an inclusive and motivating environment. Instruct attendees on effective workout methods, proper form, and techniques, monitoring and correcting participant form using positive reinforcement. Prepare and organize necessary equipment, music, and instructional materials for each session, ensuring all exercises are performed safely and adhering to fitness industry and company safety standards. Modify exercises as needed for individual needs and follow all department policies regarding safety and facility use. Provide assistance and answer participant questions to enhance their fitness experience, promote group fitness classes, and assist in club-wide activities and events. Stay updated on fitness industry trends and continuously improve instructional techniques, performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication and leadership skills
- Excellent customer service and motivational abilities
- Ability to create a welcoming and energetic class atmosphere
- Professionalism and enthusiasm for health and fitness
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Nationally recognized group fitness certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Ability to demonstrate and perform exercise routines for extended periods
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 65 pounds, depending on class type
Desired Qualifications
- Previous group fitness instruction experience preferred
