Job Summary
Facilitate group treatment sessions with adult patients exhibiting behavioral health disorders to support psychiatric stabilization and community reintegration. Perform routine daily treatment activities while documenting patient care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidance. Apply effective group therapy modalities and principles of psychiatric recovery within a whole-person centered care approach. This role operates within a 120-bed acute care psychiatric unit in Tacoma, Washington, involving five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts weekly, with weekends potentially included. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a counseling-related field and maintain a Washington State mental health license.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, social sciences, recreation, music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy, or a counseling- related field
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registration within 90 days of hire or a current associate or independent mental health license in Washington State, or music therapy license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- One year's experience in a psychiatric setting
- Union Membership
- Join the SEIU Union within thirty (30) calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing of the Union, unless you submit and are approved for a religious exemption
