Job Summary
Own Mintel's group revenue recognition policy and act as the finance owner for the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, ensuring processes from contract creation through billing and reporting operate effectively across Americas, APAC, and EMEA. Provide technical guidance on new products, pricing models, and AI-enabled revenue streams while leading cross-functional alignment with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Revenue Operations. Review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy for senior management, and develop annual commission structures in collaboration with commercial teams. Make timely decisions within agreed authority levels and escalate issues with clear commercial and accounting implications. This senior role balances technical accounting requirements with commercial judgment to serve as the group's primary expertise on revenue recognition.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant or equivalent
- significant revenue accounting experience in a B2B environment
- Strong technical knowledge of revenue recognition
- experience developing, documenting and applying revenue recognition policy
- Experience with subscription, consultancy/project-based and usage or consumption-based revenue models
- Ability to assess new products, pricing models and AI-enabled commercial arrangements from a revenue recognition perspective
- Strong commercial understanding of the link between sales performance, revenue recognition, commissions, management reporting and financial statements
- Proven ability to influence and provide direction across teams not directly managed by the role
