Job Summary
Group Product Manager, Privacy and Trust at General Motors owns enterprise consent, privacy and preferences; defines long-term platform vision, architecture priorities, and roadmap; leads a team of product managers for services, APIs, and tooling used by downstream products; tackles regulatory, distributed systems, and enterprise platform challenges; establishes platform reliability with SLOs and onboarding/self-service models for new jurisdictions; speaks for customer needs and privacy practices; monitors trends and informs the roadmap across privacy, data handling, and privacy controls; accountable for platform health and metrics across multiple consumer experiences (mobile, web, in-vehicle); communicates progress to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of digital/software product management experience
- 3+ years of experience as a people manager of product managers
- Demonstrated experience in privacy, consent, identity, compliance, or another regulated platform domain
- Strong technical fluency with distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, API design, and data platforms
- Proven ability to balance the needs of many downstream consumers with platform-wide consistency, performance, and total cost of ownership at significant scale
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define platform metrics and SLOs
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce structured, data-informed narratives that align legal, engineering, and product stakeholders
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, matrixed organizations
