Job Summary
The Group Manager Logistics I oversees the financial, operational, and employee aspects across multiple accounts within Ryder's Supply Chain Solutions, aiming to retain and grow business while meeting KPI targets, SOX controls, and safety and customer-satisfaction goals. Responsibilities include goal setting, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, developing direct and indirect reports, ensuring proper location processes, cross-training CLS/CLC teams, reviewing KPI trends, reducing overtime, and maintaining compliance related to invoicing, revenue recognition, and SOX. The role requires delivering professional relationships across the organization, managing budgets and resources, and driving process improvements in transportation, distribution, and logistics solutions for Fortune 500 clients and startups alike.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, logistics, or an associated field
- Master's Degree in related field
- 5+ years in managing, leading and developing direct reports
- 3+ years in developing and implementing complete logistics solutions and project management
- Experience in LEAN work environment
- Knowledge or experience with P&L responsibilities
- Demonstrated project management and facilitation skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results
- Experience in transportation/distribution management
- SOX invoice reconciliation or related controls
- SOX revenue recognition
- Budgeting and cost control
- Customer KPI management
- Accounting/financial reporting familiarity
- Leadership of cross-functional teams
- Disciplinary actions and performance management
- Staff development and career progression planning
- Risk and safety reporting and compliance
