Job Summary
Supervise a group of 20 to 28 K-8th grade students during after-school program hours while maintaining health and safety protocols. Maintain attendance and observation logs, model appropriate engagement, and assist students with homework during scheduled periods. Encourage positive participation in all activities, co-facilitate weekly projects, and lead initiatives fostering academic, emotional, and cultural growth. Assist in planning special events and take on special assignments consistent with program goals. Work Monday through Friday from 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM under the direct supervision of the After-School Program Director.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years' professional experience working with children in a classroom, after-school, or community-based environment leading and organizing group activities
- Demonstrated interest in the field of education, child development or literacy
- Able to work Monday-Friday from 2:15 PM to 5:15 PM
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with literacy and whole language teaching methodology desirable
- Current, active college enrollment or college degree preferred
- Previous work experience in low-income communities preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
