Job Summary
Supervise students from Kindergarten through eighth grade by providing active supervision, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and delivering homework assistance. Plan and lead engaging programs aligned with literacy, STEAM, health, and college readiness goals while embedding social-emotional learning through check-ins and relationship building. Maintain program spaces, ensure safety compliance, and document daily attendance and incidents promptly. Collaborate with staff to support youth with diverse needs and communicate participant concerns to supervisors. Complete required reporting and data collection to support continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree preferred
- Availability to work Monday through Friday during the program schedule
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and carry materials, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours
- Travel between program sites, schools, agency locations, and community events may be required
- Temporary reassignment to alternate program sites, including summer program locations, may also be required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an afterschool, school, camp, recreation, or youth development setting
- Experience supporting youth with diverse learning, behavioral, or developmental needs
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Fluency in one or more of the following languages is a plus: Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Hindi, or Uzbek
