Job Summary
Supervise program participants daily in grades K–8 across all locations, including off-site trips, while ensuring safe pick-up and delivery as assigned. Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities incorporating literacy, STEAM, and youth development, preparing daily lesson plans and unit outlines. Provide active homework assistance and facilitate activities by gathering supplies and maintaining clean, organized spaces. Utilize positive behavior management techniques to foster social-emotional growth, self-esteem, and responsibility while building positive relationships with participants. Adhere to site-specific memoranda and program staff manuals, proactively reporting incidents involving physical injury or emotional harm. Participate in assigned meetings and workshops, including a minimum of 15 hours of training annually, to enhance professional skills and improve program quality.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings
- Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance
