Job Summary
Supervise program participants daily in all locations, including off-site trips, while assisting with safe pick-up and delivery as assigned. Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment and recreation activities incorporating literacy, STEAM, and youth development, preparing daily lesson plans and unit outlines. Provide active homework assistance and facilitate activities by gathering supplies, organizing spaces, and supporting teachers and specialists. Foster social-emotional growth through positive behavior management and building positive relationships with participants. Adhere to site-specific memoranda and program staff manuals, proactively reporting incidents involving physical injury or emotional/social harm. Participate in assigned meetings and workshops for professional skill development.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings
- Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance
