Job Summary
Group Leader (Lab Supervisor) for Cell and Gene – Cell Based Assay leading an analytical testing team in a GMP-compliant lab. Responsibilities include team leadership and development, operational oversight of day-to-day testing, data quality and regulatory alignment, cross-functional collaboration, and problem solving with emphasis on standardizing workflows, data integrity, and scalable processes. Utilize ELN-Benchling and automation to improve efficiency; plan capacity and vendor strategy for late-stage development; ensure safety, lab organization, and compliance with applicable standards. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in relevant lab sciences or advanced degree with substantial relevant experience (8+ yrs with BA/BS, 6+ yrs with MS, 4+ yrs with PhD or equivalent). Strong knowledge of cellular-based assays, flow cytometry, analytical instrumentation, and cross-functional teamwork; excellent communication and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar; plus 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's with 6+ years or a PhD with 4+ years (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of 5+ associates and scientists, manage goals and performance, and develop talent
- Experience with cellular-based assays, flow cytometry, cell counting, 3D cell clusters dissociation, fixation, and data reporting
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (flow cytometers and associated software: FACSLyrics, FlowJo, Attune, FACSDUET, NC-200, Luna, Flowcam)
- Familiarity with automated liquid handling platforms (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan) and method troubleshooting/transfer
- Strong documentation and data integrity focus; ability to prepare technical documentation and communicate results to stakeholders
- Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA; full-time schedule Monday-Friday; willingness for occasional additional hours as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Background check including drug screening required
