Job Summary
Set goals for program participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum and lesson plans while maintaining a safe learning environment. Provide homework help, supervise children in programs outside school hours, and take daily attendance. Assist tutors and activity specialists in managing and documenting behavior, maintain supplies, and support data collection and participant document upkeep. Attend all necessary program meetings and perform other related duties as assigned. This role supports The Child Center of NY's mission to strengthen children and families through skills, opportunities, and emotional support across 50 locations in NYC.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have content specific experience (i.e. sports, arts, literacy, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience working with children
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task
