Job Summary
Support 10–15 students during literacy read-alouds and sequential curriculum sessions at PS 32 The Belmont School, while submitting biweekly written lesson plans and fostering a positive, productive environment. Act as a role model and mentor to address challenges with students, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and attendance goals. Collaborate with site staff and teachers to deliver structured activities in arts, sports, or technology, and participate in required trainings and meetings. Work Monday through Friday from 2:30–5:30pm with some Saturday coverage as part of a seasonal 15-hour weekly schedule funded by OCFS.
Required Qualifications
- Previous after school experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other after school staff
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a student-centered, safe, respectful, and productive environment for all participants, families and school partners
- All staff must pass NYC Dept. of Education fingerprinting clearance before beginning work
- All staff must be fully vaccinated to work at this site
- Bronx based
- Spanish-speaking
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
- Currently working toward such a degree is also acceptable
- Ideally with elementary school aged youth
