Job Summary
Lead a high-performing team of civil, structural, and transmission lines engineers to deliver critical transmission substation and lines projects powering Victoria's future. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction while overseeing the management and delivery of high-quality designs that meet scope, quality, timing, and safety expectations. Review complex engineering designs and technical solutions to act as a trusted authority on critical issues, ensuring scopes and deliverables align with standards and project requirements. Collaborate with primary and secondary engineering teams, Project Managers, and stakeholders to integrate designs constructively and proactively identify technical risks to drive efficient, cost-effective solutions. This role reports to the Manager, Design Management within the Transmission Delivery team based in Southbank.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) required, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Tertiary qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
- Detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity network engineering
- Sound understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering and delivery environments
- Deep technical knowledge and experience in civil, structural and/or transmission lines engineering
- Detailed understanding of project lifecycles
- Extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risk management
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to simplify complex engineering concepts and technical analysis for non-engineering stakeholders to support informed decision making
- Strong stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen and an understanding of project constraints to identify practical solutions that balance network, customer and community needs
- Experience preferably within transmission network infrastructure projects
- Opportunities for design optimisation, innovation and standards deviations
