Job Summary
Supervise program participants in grades K–8 across all locations, including off-site trips, while assisting with safe pick-up and delivery. Plan and implement academic enrichment and recreation activities incorporating literacy, STEAM, and youth development, preparing daily lesson plans and unit outlines. Provide active homework assistance, gather supplies, and maintain clean, organized activity spaces. Utilize positive behavior management techniques to foster social-emotional growth, build self-esteem, and encourage participant involvement. Adhere to site-specific memoranda and program staff manuals, proactively reporting incidents involving physical injury or emotional/social harm. Participate in assigned meetings and workshops to enhance professional skills, applying knowledge to improve program quality.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with school-age children (K–8) in afterschool, camp, or youth development settings
- Ability to lead activities, manage groups, and engage youth with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass all required background checks, fingerprinting, and DOE clearance
