Job Summary
Group Leader – Biopharm position responsible for day-to-day management of the technical section (typically 4–10 staff). Plans, coordinates, and directs operations to meet client timelines, ensure data quality, and deliver analytical reports and protocols on time. Supervises staff including hiring, training, performance evaluation, compensation recommendations, and performance management. Oversees testing, scheduling, inventory, services, and coordination of lab and field activities; provides technical and quality support to staff and clients. Participates in writing, reviewing, and approving SOPs, calibration procedures, validation protocols, maintenance procedures, and related documentation. Provides analysis and guidance to staff and leadership regarding policies and programs; reviews operational data and trends and presents recommendations to management. Supports development of departmental or cross-functional projects, including budgets, timelines, materials, and staffing. Ensures compliance with Pace and regulatory requirements; partners with Quality Assurance to enforce quality procedures. Demonstrates tact and professionalism; delivers presentations to varied audiences; contributes to team goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field; AND five (5) years of laboratory, field, or testing experience, including experience with complex operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Two (2) years of team leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Proficiency with computer applications and systems
- Experience with testing processes, data quality, and QA procedures
- Ability to oversee operations, scheduling, inventory, and cross-functional projects
- Ability to prepare complex reports and correspondence
- Ability to deliver presentations to varied audiences
