Job Summary
Supervise students from Kindergarten through eighth grade by providing active supervision, facilitating academic support, and guiding transitions between activities. Plan and lead engaging educational, recreational, and enrichment programs aligned with site plans while modeling respectful behavior and reinforcing positive expectations. Incorporate Social-Emotional Learning into daily routines through check-ins and reflection activities to foster youth development and participation. Maintain program spaces and complete daily attendance, documentation, and incident reports to ensure compliance with agency, DYCD, and SACC policies. Collaborate with supervisors and cross-department teams to support continuous quality improvement and program operations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Availability to work Monday through Friday during the program schedule
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift and carry materials, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Requires flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and extended hours
- Travel between program sites, schools, agency locations, and community events may be required
- Temporary reassignment to alternate program sites, including summer program locations, may also be required
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred
- Experience working in an afterschool, school, camp, recreation, or youth development setting
- Experience supporting youth with diverse learning, behavioral, or developmental needs
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Fluency in one or more of the following languages is a plus: Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Hindi, or Uzbek
