Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate Direct Support employees while managing facility operations, staffing, and assigned budgets. Interview and hire Direct Support Professionals, prepare schedules for adequate coverage, and perform personal care duties including hygiene tasks, meal preparation, and goal implementation. Spend time in the residential facility monitoring staff interactions, resolving employee issues, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring training compliance. Maintain a clean home and yard, providing after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation. Requires CPR and first aid certification, availability for on-call shifts, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
- Must be qualified as a Habilitation Technician II (med certified) or eligible to be so designated at the first available training after accepting the position
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally pull at least 40 lbs
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, which requires working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting
- Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Complete criminal background Name checked in the registries (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
- Drug testing
- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals
Desired Qualifications
- CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus
