Job Summary
Instruct fitness and aerobic classes weekly, including Cardio Kickboxing, Bollywood, HIIT, and Strength Circuits, while guiding members through flexibility, aerobic conditioning, and strength training. Choreograph exercise sequences and monitor classes to ensure safe procedures, proper stretching, and equipment safety. Perform light custodial duties, inspect fitness areas, and enforce rules professionally. Participate in continuing education seminars and represent the fitness center at events. Maintain regular attendance and incorporate safe work practices in all job performance.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current Group Fitness certification
- Has previous group fitness teaching experience
- Can teach a variety of class styles
- Brings great energy and motivation to every class
- Has excellent communication skills
- Is dependable, professional, and a team player
- National Certificate for Aerobic Instruction
- AED, CPR and First Aid
- Ability to read and speak English
- Experience and exposure with wide variety of exercise equipment, instructional techniques, injury prevention, fitness/wellness counseling, and developing/interpreting personalized fitness/wellness regimens
- Associate's degree (AA) in Physical Education or related field; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Occasionally lifts up to 45 pounds
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
