Job Summary
Lead 50-minute group fitness classes with engaging, well-structured workouts scaled for every fitness level, including smart warm-ups, effective exercises, and proper cooldowns. Arrive 10 minutes early to set up equipment, test audio, and ensure the studio is clean and stocked before each session. Greet every participant with genuine enthusiasm, learn names, and provide clear cues, modifications, and progressions to help members move safely. Curate high-energy playlists matching your class style and manage check-ins through RGPro while monitoring participation trends. Check on injuries or limitations before class starts to adjust routines on the fly. Maintain a consistent schedule, line up responsible subs when needed, and keep full energy throughout. This part-time role at our Salt Lake City Gym offers $30/hour for instructing and $15/hour for admin time, with free membership and discounts on food and merchandise.
Required Qualifications
- ACE, NASM, or AFAA certification (or hold a CPT)
- Spin certification (if teaching cycling)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles
- Ability to cue clearly, motivate a room, and keep energy up class after class
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to line up a sub the right way
- Physical readiness to demonstrate exercises, lift up to 25 lbs, and stay on feet and moving for the full class
- Problem-solving, team-first mindset
