Job Summary
Plan and deliver group fitness classes for Cycle, Aqua, Yoga, Senior Fitness, and General Group Fitness while maintaining safety standards and a clean, welcoming environment. Track attendance, inspect equipment for hazards, and serve as a trained first responder when needed. Promote programs through facility announcements and occasional written content. Attend required meetings and stay current with industry trends. This part-time role offers flexible daytime, evening, and Saturday morning scheduling at the Lenexa Rec Center, with a starting rate of $24.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Current, nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- Must have good flexibility, coordination, and visual acuity
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and demonstrate exercises
- Must be able to work in a busy Recreation Center with frequent exposure to noise, humidity, and variable temperatures
- Must successfully pass a drug screen
- Must pass a background check (for applicants aged 18 and older)
