Job Summary
Teach safe and effective group fitness classes for general and active aging populations, including those with limited fitness experience; assist members in using safe exercise form during workouts; promote member progress toward fitness goals; attend safety trainings and continuing education to keep certifications current; maintain a clean, safe, professional fitness environment; lead classes with energy and clear instruction; administer emergency care if needed; collaborate with other departments to deliver a positive member experience; promote center services and activities; ensure knowledge of programs and activities offered; follow OSHA and safety standards and maintain equipment; qualification requirements include an AA degree (preferred), 2 years Group Exercise experience (preferred), current group fitness certification, and AED/CPR/First Aid certification; must provide proof of citizenship or legal status; physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- AA Degree or higher preferred
- 2 years Group Exercise experience
- Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate (e.g., Zumba)
- AED/CPR/First Aid Certification
- Proof of citizenship or legal status
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
