Job Summary
Group Financial Controller responsible for leading the finance function on a multi-entity Australian business; acts as deputy to the CFO, driving governance, reporting, compliance, and process improvements across financial operations, with a focus on scalable, accurate financial reporting, consolidation, and performance analysis. Responsibilities include leading monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, intercompany accounting, cash flow forecasting, year-end audits, payroll, AP/AR, and management accounting; overseeing governance frameworks, finance transformation, automation initiatives, and AI-driven efficiency projects; partnering with executives to support strategic decisions and growth, including acquisitions and integrations. Requires CA/CPA and extensive experience in senior finance roles, strong technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS), multi-entity leadership, and ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- CA or CPA qualification
- Significant experience in Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Audit, Assurance, or Business Services environments
- Experience leading finance teams and managing end-to-end finance operations
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
- Experience working across multiple entities and complex corporate structures
- Advanced financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical capability
- Strong process improvement, automation, and systems optimisation experience
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with exceptional attention to detail
