GROUP FACILITATOR

Job Summary
Group Facilitator will lead group therapy sessions, guide group discussions, manage dynamics, and ensure collaborative participation in treatment settings. Responsibilities include conducting process and educational groups, documenting in client charts, maintaining client confidentiality, applying knowledge of chemical dependency and state/federal regulations, and ensuring ethical and professional conduct. Qualifications emphasize a high school diploma or GED with a bachelor’s degree preferred (or relevant experience), required or contingent certifications in related fields, CPR preferred, and potential Maine-specific ADCA requirements. Experience with chemical dependency/dual-diagnosed clients and ability to work in a team under stress are valued. The role includes adherence to privacy and safety policies and the ability to assist in treatment planning and informed consent processes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with relevant experience considered as substitute
- Minimum certification in a related field if only HS or Bachelor's degree
- ADCA required for Maine unless MS in clinical field exempt
- CPR certification preferred
- Two years of continuous sobriety if recovering from SUD and participating in self-help program
- Prefer 2 years experience with chemical dependency or dual-diagnosed clients
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards and Federal/State regulations
- Knowledge of client confidentiality and PHI
- Documenting in client chart; ability to conduct process/educational groups; professional conduct; report abuse of client rights; maintain privacy per policy
