Job Summary
Conduct psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and crisis intervention for clients in an integrated primary care setting. Deliver individual, group, and family therapy while preparing treatment plans, managing cases, and coordinating discharge planning. Collect and analyze patient data to identify root causes, determine therapeutic approaches, and refer clients to appropriate agencies or providers. Maintain comprehensive client case files from intake through discharge, ensuring accurate clinical documentation and outcome measurements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and students, providing clinical supervision and staff training as needed. Perform administrative functions including group preparation, scheduling, chart audits, and outreach to referral sources.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent or licensure pending, as documented by temporary license
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling including competencies, principles, methods, procedures, ethics, and standards
- Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills
- Knowledge of clinical operations and compliance guidelines
- Familiarity as well as collaboration with community mental health resources
- Ability to maintain emotional stability during crisis or emergent situations
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to engage and redirect group members as needed and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including creating, composing, and editing written materials
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and ability to de-escalate in stressful situations
- Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic interventions and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights in MA
- Ability to lead and train staff and/or students, as needed
