Job Summary
Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels and ensuring a safe, effective approach to exercise. Maintain industry certification in good standing, meet continuing education requirements, and record participation numbers after every session. Ensure proper setup and cleanup so classes begin and end on time, then report any equipment needs or broken items to the supervisor immediately. Demonstrate accountability by avoiding missed classes and seeking substitutes in advance while providing a fun and engaging experience for participants. Work towards meeting departmental goals with flexibility regarding center hours and schedules.
Required Qualifications
- A group exercise instructor certification
- NCCA accredited certification
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction
- CPR/AED certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Nationally recognized NCCA Personal Trainer certification
- Experience teaching a variety of styles, levels and population
