Job Summary
Plan and instruct group fitness classes using a personalized approach while setting up and taking down equipment. Design safe, effective programs that meet unique member needs, observe individual progress, and maintain accurate attendance records. Motivate participants to commit to long-term participation and respond to safety incidents or equipment problems immediately. Complete required trainings, attend staff meetings, and report hazards or suspicious behavior to supervisors. Maintain current certifications and support center operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- basic knowledge of fitness or equivalent work/education experience
- Experience with multiple formats
- at minimum 25 hours of practical experience as a fitness class instructor
- the ability to lead a fitness class and to motivate and educate members in the field of physical fitness
- the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- the ability to set up, move, and store equipment
- at least 18 years of age
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
