Job Summary
Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels. Ensure arrival time allows for proper set up so that class begins on time, ends on time, and that area is cleaned up after class. Record participation numbers after every Group Exercise class and report any equipment needs or broken equipment needing repair to supervisor immediately following class. Understand contraindicated exercises to provide a safe and effective approach to exercise while maintaining industry certification in good standing and meeting continuing education requirements. Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants and work towards meeting departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- A group exercise instructor certification
- NCCA accredited certification
- Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction
- CPR/AED certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- NCCA Personal Trainer certification
- Experience teaching a variety of styles, levels and population
