Job Summary
Group Exercise Aqua Instructor responsible for delivering safe, world-class aquatic group exercise experiences, teaching in both deep and shallow water, meeting class attendance targets, arriving early, substituting as needed, maintaining CPR/AED and program certifications, using group-exercise platforms for attendance, and promoting Brick Bodies brand. Must teach to swimmers and non-swimmers, communicate effectively, lead with energy, and support club events and member engagement while upholding safety and program standards.
Required Qualifications
- Previous group exercise teaching experience preferred but not required
- Clear understanding of properties of water and how to safely teach in deep and shallow water
- Knowledge of group exercise aquatic equipment, proper use and storage
- Ability to teach to both swimmers and non-swimmers in all classes
- Program certification required for all licensed programs; traditional programs require program-specific training
- Current CPR/AED certification or acquisition within 3 months of date of hire
- Strong leadership, coaching, and crowd management skills including voice projection and the ability to mirror image while teaching on deck
- Excellent communication both verbally and visually
- Strong desire to work with participants of varying abilities in a single class
