Job Summary
Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes in strength, stability, and balance training to accomplish the YMCA's mission. Answer participant questions within your scope of knowledge and maintain working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective support. Observe and adjust your approach to accommodate all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture. Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Supervisor. Complete the YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire. Hourly rate of $15.
Required Qualifications
- Area of Expertise
- CPR
- First Aid
- AED
- national certification (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NESTA, NETA, NPTI, NSCA) in personal training
- Proven knowledge of exercise science
- movement coaching
- movement competency
- Completion of YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of experience teaching group wellness classes
