Job Summary
Group Director of Data Architecture/Engineering at Walmart Global Tech leading a distributed team to drive data engineering charter, establish platform best practices, and develop data products that support real-time and batch processing across markets. Responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams of data scientists, analysts, product managers, engineers, and operators to identify high-value use cases, translate business problems into analytical solutions, and deliver scalable data platforms with governance and data quality frameworks. Build and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, sponsor data commercialization initiatives, and drive continuous improvement by incorporating industry best practices. Key capabilities include experience with Spark/Hadoop, RDBMS/NoSQL databases, data modeling, warehousing, microservices, DevOps, and delivering end-to-end data products in a global enterprise context. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering degree or closely related discipline
- 15+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
- Experience leading large/medium distributed platform teams
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle/MySQL), non-relational databases (Cassandra,HBase), and Big data technologies (Hadoop,Spark)
- End-to-end data product development experience (DaaS)
- DevOps knowledge
- Experience with real-time and batch processing
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
